As a member of Gen Z, mental health remains an incredibly important topic for my generation. World Mental Health Day is a reminder to prioritise mental wellbeing, raise awareness, and ensure that everyone can access the support they need, especially during times of crisis and uncertainty.
This year’s theme, “Access to services: mental health in catastrophes and emergencies,” highlights the importance of making mental health support available to all, no matter the situation. In a world facing increasing global instability, ensuring access to care is more vital than ever.
At Cybertill, we’re proud to prioritise the mental health of our team by fostering a safe, supportive, and responsive workplace where help is always accessible when it’s needed most. Here’s how we’re putting that into practice:
Our Commitment to Mental Health Access
Mental Health First Aiders
We have trained Mental Health First Aiders available to support staff when needed. They’ve completed St John Ambulance mental health training and can provide guidance for emotional, physical, vocational, and financial wellbeing.
Workplace Mental Health Training
All employees receive mental health awareness training. Our Senior Management Team and line managers have also completed in-depth sessions to better understand mental health conditions and recognise early signs of distress.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy
Our dedicated policy ensures that mental health remains central to our workplace culture, helping everyone feel supported and understood.
Information Hub
We’ve built a mental health SharePoint page filled with resources, case studies, and awareness content, available to all employees anytime they need it.
Access Beyond the Workplace
Mental health support shouldn’t stop at the office door. Access to care and connection is just as important in our personal lives, especially during challenging times.
For me, taking care of my mental health means spending time doing what I love, like dancing twice a week. Ballet and tap don’t just lift my mood; they help me connect with others and stay resilient when life feels uncertain.
Paul Abbott, Cybertill's Head of Customer Support, finds balance and connection through his local golf club, spending weekends on the course with others who share his passion. As a trained Mental Health First Aider, Paul knows first-hand the importance of having support networks both at work and in the community.
Jess Howarth, our Senior Account Manager, turns to running as a key part of her wellbeing routine. Her early morning runs clear her head and prepare her to take on the day, a simple yet powerful reminder that mental health care starts with small, accessible actions.
A Reminder for World Mental Health Day
This World Mental Health Day, let’s reflect on the importance of access: to services, to support, and to one another.
Because in times of crisis, connection and care can make all the difference.
