Ian Tomlinson, founder and current Executive Chairman of Cybertill, has just completed a charity bike ride from Bruges to Amsterdam in aid of Bury Hospice.

Keen cyclist Ian was keen to raise funds for his local hospice, which is also a Cybertill client. The ride was in excess of 150 miles and took Ian and his two cohorts 3 days to complete. They rode along specific cycle paths that link Bruges to Amsterdam. This ride is just one small section of North Sea Cycle route that takes in 8 countries and is 6,000km in length. The highlights of the ride were without question, the stunning scenery along the way of the picturesque villages and waterways. The lowlights or rather the character building elements, were sleeping in bunk beds in hostels.

Bury Hospice delivers very special nursing and medical care to local men and women who are living with a life-threatening or terminal illness whilst supporting their families and carers.

“I try and undertake a fundraising event each year. This year I thought of doing a bike ride for my local hospice for several reasons. Firstly, Cybertill supply EPoS, ecommerce and mail order solutions to many different charity and cycle retailers, and secondly I am keen cyclist. I thought Bruges to Amsterdam is quite a challenge in three days. The support we have received has been fantastic and so far the bike ride has raised a fantastic £980 for Bury Hospice, which is truly a worthy cause.” Commented Ian Tomlinson.
